Iowa's attorney general says she plans to appeal a district court's decision to allow non-English voting materials.

Brenna Bird says the move is about "protecting election integrity."

In June, a Polk County Judge ruled in favor of a lawsuit that challenged the English Language Reaffirmation Act. That latest ruling allows materials to be written in different languages, citing every American's constitutional right to vote.

Bird says the Reaffirmation Act is clear that all official documents are to be written in English.
